srfThe Dutch Health Council supports a temperate sunbaths in solariums

Veldhoven, 2009. 11. December (SRF) – In according with the Dutch Health Councilvaluation, there are no arguments against the temperate natural or solarium sunbathe. The Dutch Health Councilin their letters to theDutch ministries, which are dealing with a health and consumers protection issues, emphasizes that there are no strong  allegations that taking a sunbath in solariums could increase a risk of the skin cancer. In addition to that the Dutch Health Councilhas a serious objections to the decision of the IACR (International Agency of cancer Risk) to include the solarium in the same high cancer risk as UVR (Ultraviolet Radiation). This statement is not supported by the scientific proof. Moreover, the scientists of the Council in this valuation are explaining the positive effects of the supply of D vitamin for the human organism: even more than 90% of this  vitamin is provided by the sun rays. „This is a positive signal  that such a recognized institution  as Dutch Health Council by evaluating a sunbath are keeping on such a sound criteria  and making weightened conclusions” – is commenting Mr. Ad Brand on the Forum of the Sun Light Research (SRF).
Dutch Health Councilis the most significant consultancy and  scientific commission in the Dutch health system. The research, valuation and recommendations  of this institution very often are taken as a basis for preparation of the government legislation and terms.
SRF is a nonprofits organisation with administration located in Netherlands. The objective of the organisation is to inform a public about the newest scientific and medical discoveries regarding the influence of the temperate UVR to the human organism.
